Help us with Outreach in Rural Guatemala

Guatemala carries a unique calling from the Lord to be a light to the nations. Its’ people are devoted, tender-hearted, and deeply hungry for God’s purposes to unfold—especially in the rural regions. We believe the Lord is stirring a fresh wave of revival across the land, yet many pastors and leaders urgently need equipping to steward the move of God that is already beginning.

In the late 70s to early 90’s there was a genocide against the Mayan community. Even through hardship, Guatemala remains a nation set apart for God. The country holds a remarkable covenantal bond with Israel. In 1947, Guatemala cast the deciding vote in favor of establishing the State of Israel, a decision that forged enduring ties between the two nations. Guatemala has often been described as Israel’s “twin,” and during the 2023 crisis, Israeli ambassadors recognized Guatemalan evangelicals as some of Israel’s greatest allies in prayer and support.

Hi! From our AIC Team on the Ground In Panajachel, Guatemala

We are Efrain and Sarah Macario, pastors with Arise in Christ Ministries and launching with AIC in Panajachel— a remote community three hours from Guatemala City. There is a great need for ministry in the region so the love of Jesus can heal the peoples’ wounds from hurts of domestic abuse, neglect, poverty and intergenerational effects stemming from the genocide. The region is beautiful, with volcanoes and stunning scenery, but there is also a strong presence of witchcraft, occult practices and religosity, that Jesus so desperately longs to change. Through local ministry, the darkness can be overcome by the light and  love of Jesus. In turn,  the people can be healed and run into their call, taking up the mantal for revival and expansion of the kingdom.

Panajachel draws many tourists because of its natural beauty, creating a unique opportunity for outreach. The community lacks safe recreational spaces, and both locals and travelers need places to connect, grow, and experience something new.

An ARISE Café would provide a life-giving space and training base—offering community, discipleship, creative expression, and opportunities for local employment while helping support the Arise in Christ Guatemala base and its programs.

ARISE Creative Studio & Art Cafe

ARISE Creative Studio & Art Cafe is connected to Arise In Christ Ministries, which is a partner in harvest with Catch The Fire. The ARISE creative studio and crepe café offers hands-on pottery experiences alongside gourmet sweet and savory crepes. The space would provide recreational activities and would function as a community gathering hub, as well as a Christian training center for youth and adults when not in use. Guests can enjoy made-to-order crepes while painting pottery pieces in a warm, welcoming Christian environment.
